About

Casey Bodenhausen CYT, M.S., PhD

First, I want to express gratitude and acknowledge the steps you are taking to seek support. Finding the right therapist at the right time is often tough – on top of everything else you are currently navigating! I want to share a little about myself and my background to make this part of your decision making just a little less mysterious.

Like most pathways to positive change, my career has been anything but linear. In my former career in hospitality management, I found myself consistently diving into side opportunities for immersive learning about culture and holistic health. From certified yoga teacher training at an ashram in Nasik, India; living abroad in Europe and South America; to years of working with sustainable organic agriculture in Lawrence, Kansas while pursuing my master’s degree – I seem to have infinite curiosity for ancient practices, multicultural perspectives, and scientific knowledge about what it is to be healthy, connected, and human.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a psychologist is that I get to draw from all these experiences and connect them with the healing practices of therapy in creative and collaborative ways with my clients! As such, whether you are an avid sports fan, a fellow science nerd, an artist, a yogi or a farmer, your interests and skills are just as important to our work together as your struggles and goals are. Understanding each other as whole, complex, contradictory, and ever-learning beings is the foundation on which we form a respectful and trusting therapeutic relationship.
