Professional Partnerships & Group Therapy

I partner with programs, clinics, and organizations across Kansas City to expand access to evidence-based mental health and behavioral wellness services. These partnerships allow agencies to offer specialized care, without hiring additional full-time staff, while strengthening their ability to focus on their core specialties. Through collaboration, I provide services that are flexible and cost-effective while enhancing organizations’ treatments, supporting their clinicians, and improving client outcomes.

Group Therapy & Program Support

In addition to individual therapy, I offer evidence-based group therapies tailored to a wide range of settings—including community spaces, wellness programs, inpatient units, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and Substance Use Disorder treatment programs. I will add - I am passionate about group therapy - it is the most efficient way to reduce feelings of isolation, increase skills better learned with others, and it offers so much more than the sum of its parts. Frequently demanded group offerings include:

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Tobacco & Nicotine Cessation
  • Sleep Hygiene for Substance Use Recovery
  • Behavioral Sleep Medicine–informed groups
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Yoga (CBT-Y)

How Professional Partnerships Add Value

Professional partnerships provide organizations with access to highly specialized services while preserving internal resources. Benefits include:

Enhanced Clinical Focus

Therapists and providers can stay anchored in their specialties while I support clients with sleep improvement and insomnia prevention, health behavior change, mindfulness tools, stress reduction, and emotion regulation. In collaboration, we improve client outcomes through tailored behavioral interventions that reinforce medical, psychiatric, and wellness treatment plans.

Increased Access to Care

Partner organizations can offer a wider range of evidence-based services to clients who might otherwise face long waitlists or limited specialty options – without needing in-house expertise.

Support for Substance Use Treatment Programs

Behavioral Sleep Medicine services, for groups and individuals, augment SUD treatments by addressing early insomnia, substance and withdrawal related sleep problems, and stress through proven behavioral strategies.

Complimentary Care for Sleep Clinics

By outsourcing the psychological and behavioral components of sleep care, such as insomnia treatment (CBT-I) and CPAP/BiPAP adherence (e.g., exposure and relaxation techniques), a sleep clinic’s time and cost burden is reduced, and clients benefit from wrap-around medical and therapeutic care.

These partnerships create a seamless extension of your services. Together, we build a comprehensive care model that supports health, sleep, and emotional well-being across our community.

Healing Justice: A Kansas City Innovation

One of my current Professional Partnerships is Healing Justice, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between AIMwell Yoga, the Kansas City Health Department, and the Kansas City Wellness Court. This program blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), yoga, and meditation to support individuals in the justice system.

What Makes Healing Justice Unique

Healing Justice is the only municipal-level CBT + Yoga program of its kind in the nation, making Kansas City a leader in innovative, wellness-based diversion programming. Modeled after evidence-based rehabilitation approaches, this program:

  • Addresses root causes of repeat offense: unmanaged stress, trauma, and emotion dysregulation
  • Aligns with public health models that support healing rather than punishment
  • Provides accessible wellness resources to clients who often face financial and systemic barriers

Impact & Evidence

Research indicates that CBT-based interventions can reduce reoffense rates by 25% or more and generate significant public safety benefits for communities. Healing Justice is built on this evidence and is currently gathering IRB-approved data to evaluate long-term outcomes, with plans for publication.

How the Program Works

Healing Justice is an eight-week group therapy designed for individuals voluntarily participating in the Kansas City Wellness Court—a pioneering platform that connects participants with housing, employment, mental health care, and now somatic therapy. When clients complete the Wellness Court program, their records are cleared, offering a meaningful path toward stability and opportunity.

The first Healing Justice cohort launches at AIMwell Yoga, a Black woman–owned wellness center dedicated to community accessibility. The program is fully funded by the Kansas City Health Department, allowing participants to receive evidence-based therapeutic wellness services at no cost.
